It’s an old dream come true when Rued L<\/strong>angaard’s last completed work From the Deep<\/em> for soloists, large choir and orchestra and organ will be performed publicly for the first time at Rued Langgaard Festival 2025.<\/b><\/p>

The big orchestral concert at Rued Langgaard Festival 2025 ends with a bang. With quotes from the Catholic Mass of the Dead and a stormy beginning with screeching piccolo flutes “dreamt in Night Sleep”<\/em> on December 3, 1950, the music has the character of a personal requiem for Rued Langgaard. <\/p>

It is fascinating to imagine that Langgaard, who lived a few kilometers from the North Sea, chose a Breton legend as the motto for Fra Dybet <\/em>, in which the bells of a city sunk in the sea are heard. Despite the nightmares and gloomy staging, Fra Dybet<\/em> ends on a jubilant note with the text Mihi quoque spem dedisti<\/em> – You have given me hope too.<\/em> <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

With a total duration of around 8 explosive minutes, Fra Dybet<\/em> is one of Langgaard’s most compressed works. Fortunately, the music is in the best hands when Michael Sch\u00f8nwandt returns to the Rued Langgaard Festival and leads the S\u00f8nderjyllands Symfoniorkester and a large number of choir singers in Ribe Cathedral. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
