Festival opening 2026 with the theme Sweden

Rued Langgaard Festival invites you again this year to participate in the festival’s opening concert at Domkirkepladsen in Ribe on September 3, 2026.
We celebrate Nordic culture and sing some of the most beautiful Swedish songs.
Come and sing with choir participants from all over South and Southern Jutland and have a great choir experience in Ribe.
All ages and genders can join as a single singer, choir or part of a choir.
You are invited to sing along to the following:
-Anders Fryxell: Alas, Värmeland, you beautiful one (Download node)
– Carl Michael Bellman: Butterfly winged visible on Haga
– Benny Andersen and Bjørn Ulvæus: The Song of the Eighteen Swans (Poul Sørensen)
– Birger Sjöberg: The first time I saw you (Kim Larsen)
– Folktale: Queen Dagmar lies ill in Ribe
for children’s choir, boys’ choir, girls’ choir, women’s choir, men’s choir, folk choir and brass in arrangements by Rued Langgaard and Benjamin Friis Nielsen.

16.00: Everyone meets at Ribe Domkirkeplads and finds their area
16.30 – 17.15 Concert
