Festival opening 2026 with the theme Sweden

Ture Rangström, Elfrida Andrée and Rued Langgaard

Rued Langgaard Festival invites you again this year to participate in the festival’s opening concert at Domkirkepladsen in Ribe on September 3, 2026.

We celebrate Nordic culture and sing some of the most beautiful Swedish songs.

Come and sing with choir participants from all over South and Southern Jutland and have a great choir experience in Ribe.

All ages and genders can join as a single singer, choir or part of a choir.

You are invited to sing along and can download the choir parts here:

– Anders Fryxell: Alas, Värmeland, you beautiful one

– Text and melody by Carl Michael Bellman: Butterfly winged is seen on Haga

– Music by Benny Andersen and Bjørn Ulvæus, lyrics by Cornelis Vreesvijk: The Song of the Eighteen Swans

– Lyrics and melody Birger Sjöberg: The first time I saw you

– Folktale: Queen Dagmar lies ill in Ribe
